Police extend their hunt for a gunman who robbed an Ashton on Mersey supermarket and release CCTV images

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to question about an armed robbery of the Tesco Express store in Green Lane in Ashton on Mersey..
The robbery occurred at 11 pm  on Thursday night when a gunman wearing a balaclava threaten staff and forced them to give him money.
The gunman made off down Green Lane, passing the Old Plough pub and turning on to Buck Lane.

No one was injured in the attack but staff have been left “shaken”, police say.

Detective Sergeant John Seaton, of Greater Manchester Police’s Trafford District, said: “This was a shocking attack on people who were just doing their jobs

No arrests have yet been made but enquiries are on going.

Officers have also released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the armed robbery.

DS Seaton added: “We are appealing to members of the public to assist us in identifying the man in the image we have released as we want to speak to him in connection with the incident.”
